1. Agreement to These Terms

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Lio (“we,” “our,” or “us”) governing your use of the Lio mobile application, website, and related services (together, the “Service”). By creating an account, purchasing a subscription, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

Lio is an AI-powered nutrition companion. The Service lets you log meals by voice, photo, barcode, or text; chat with an AI coach; track weight, streaks, and progress; and receive personalized insights based on your logged data. Features may change, be added, or be removed over time as we improve the Service.

3. Not Medical Advice

Lio is a general wellness and nutrition-tracking tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Content generated by the Service — including AI chat responses, nutrition estimates, meal suggestions, insights, and coaching messages — is for informational purposes only.

• Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making changes to your diet, exercise, or health regimen, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, have a medical condition (including eating disorders, diabetes, or food allergies), or take medication.
• Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you read in the Service.
• Do not rely on the Service to detect allergens or verify that a food is safe for you to eat.

4. AI-Generated Content and Accuracy

The Service uses artificial intelligence to estimate nutrition information from your voice descriptions, photos, and text, and to generate coaching responses. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated. Calorie and macronutrient values are estimates, not measurements. You are responsible for reviewing and, where it matters to you, verifying any information the Service provides before acting on it.

5. Eligibility and Accounts

• You must be at least 13 years old (or the higher minimum age required in your country) to use the Service.
• You must provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• One account per person; accounts are personal to you and may not be shared or transferred.

6. Subscriptions and Purchases

Lio Pro

Access to Lio's features requires a paid plan (“Lio Pro”), offered as an auto-renewable monthly subscription, an auto-renewable yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in the app before you buy and may vary by region.

Auto-Renewal

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period at the price shown at purchase (or as updated with notice as required by the app store).
• You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your device's app store account settings (App Store: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions; Google Play: Menu → Payments & subscriptions). Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access until then.

Lifetime Purchase

The lifetime option is a one-time, non-consumable purchase that grants access to Lio Pro for the operating life of the Service. “Lifetime” refers to the life of the Service, not the purchaser.

Refunds

Purchases are processed by Apple or Google, and refunds are handled under their policies. To request a refund, contact the app store where you made the purchase (for Apple, via reportaproblem.apple.com). We do not have the ability to issue app store refunds directly.

7. Your Content

You retain ownership of the content you submit to the Service — meal photos, voice recordings, chat messages, and logged data (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, process, transcribe, analyze, and display Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service for you, as described in our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for Your Content. Do not submit content that is unlawful, infringes the rights of others, or contains another person's personal or health information without their permission.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
• Attempt to probe, breach, or circumvent the Service's security or rate limits;
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or extract the Service's software, models, or data, except where permitted by law;
• Use automated means to access the Service or resell or sublicense access to it;
• Attempt to manipulate the AI into producing harmful, infringing, or misleading output and present that output as ours;
• Interfere with other users' use of the Service.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service — including its software, design, branding, and content we provide — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on devices you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use, in accordance with these Terms and the applicable app store rules.

10. Termination and Account Deletion

• You may stop using the Service at any time and can delete your account and associated data from within the app.
• We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, abuse the Service, or where required by law. Where practical, we will notify you of the reason.
• Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active subscription — cancel it in your app store settings.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that nutrition estimates or AI responses will be accurate or suitable for your individual circumstances.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

13. Apple App Store Terms

If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and us, not Apple; that Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app; and that Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms with the right to enforce them. Your use of the app must also comply with the Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement to the extent it applies.

14. Changes to the Service or These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree to updated Terms, stop using the Service and cancel any active subscription.

15. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Service operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence apply. Before filing a claim, please contact us — most concerns can be resolved quickly and informally.
